MEDIATION

Amicable settlements can be reached when both spouses seek to negotiate the terms of their divorce with the advice of their attorneys and the guidance of an experienced mediator. Mediation is commonly considered to be less adversarial and less costly than divorce litigation and is usually conducted in one of the lawyer’s offices by a trained mediator, agreed upon by each party.

Ms. Joffe has extensive experience representing clients in mediation proceedings. She understands your rights and options and successfully advocates and negotiates for best outcomes. In general, litigation is more expensive, more adversarial, and is conducted before a judge who makes decisions on matters brought before him or her. Uncertain outcomes are also a factor in litigation. Depending on your specific circumstances, Ms. Joffe has the experience required to determine whether mediation, litigation, or a strategic combination of both are in your best interests.
